Sydney Roberts

Graduate Student

Sydney Roberts is a Ph.D. student in Clinical Psychology. She graduated from Ohio State University with a B.A. in psychology and a minor in cognitive science. Her previous projects related to emotional regulation and externalization, aspectual extension, and accessible healthcare. Her current interests include affect regulation, working memory, stress and anxiety, and implementation. She is currently identifying and testing low effort and accessible treatments for depression and anxiety. Outside of school, Sydney likes to hangout with her dog and explore new coffee shops.

Sevrin VanDevender

Graduate Student

Sevrin (Sevi) VanDevender is a Ph.D. student in Social Psychology. He graduated from Christopher Newport University with a B.S. in psychology and a minor in biology. His previous projects related to affect regulation, autobiographical recall, and caregiving. His current interests include emotional regulation, distanced self-talk, and low-effort regulation strategies. He is currently examining the role of expectations in emotion regulation. Outside of research, Sevi enjoys surfing and going to concerts.

Meara Polanski

Graduate Student

Meara Polanski, from Cleveland OH, is a Ph.D. student in Social Psychology. She graduated from Ohio University with a B.S. in psychology and a minor in biological sciences. Her previous projects related to stress regulation, affect and social support in pairs of friends and romantic partners. Her current interests include the psychophysiology of stress management, social support and affective outcomes in stressful situations. When not in the lab, Meara enjoys reading, baking sourdough, hiking and listening to music.
